Abstract
This is a review of practical experience in America with alloy-plating processes involving tin. Principal emphasis is placed on tin-zinc, tin-nickel and tin-copper alloys; also mentioned are alloys of tin with lead and cadmium, and some ternaries. Tin-zinc electroplate has some unique properties which have caused its adoption by the electrical and electronics industries. Tin-nickel and tin-copper are still in the “promising possibility” stage, but are expected to progress to commercial acceptance. Keywords
