Abstract
The sexes of ladder-backed woodpeckers [Dendrocopos scalaris] differ in their foraging behavior in S Arizona [USA]. Additionally, there are seasonal differences in foraging, especially by the males. Males tend to be generalists while females tend to specialize. Seasonal variation in foraging appears to depend on food availability and demand. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
