Presentation of CaseA sixty-three-year-old woman entered the hospital because of "gall-bladder disease."Five months previously she experienced a "gall-bladder attack" characterized by fever, nausea, vomiting, weakness and pain in the right upper quadrant of the abdomen, with radiation to the back. The episode lasted for two or three days, and thereafter she stopped eating fatty foods. During the five months before admission there were daily episodes of pain in the right paraumbilical region, with radiation to the back.
