Abstract
The curability of abdominal Actinomyces israelii actinomycosis with present treatment makes mandatory the differentiation between this increasingly rare entity and advanced colonic carcinoma. A [human] case is described in which a 2nd exploratory operation was necessary before proper histologic tissue was provided to make the diagnosis of actinomycosis of the sigmoid colon. Keywords
