Analysis of complete unhydrolyzed natural waxes by gas-liquid, thin-layer and column chromatography is discussed. Many waxes can be analyzed and compared by GLC and TLC alone. Column chromatography confirms and extends the results obtained by the other two methods. Application of the procedures to analysis of wax of the grass Festuca ovina is described.
