Abstract
Morph. characteristics of T. cacao are its chupon and orqueta formation, large tap root, and flowering cushions. Anatomical examination showed that the 5 braches of the orqueta are crowded because of lack of internodal elongation. The anatomy of the chupon and fan wood is similar. Large mucilaginous-filled cavities are found in the pith. Smaller ones occur in the cortex and root tissues. The primary root is hexarch; the secondary ones are tetrarch. A flowering cushion is developed from a single axillary bud. Stomata, which are extremely small, occur only on the lower surface of the leaves. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
