Abstract
Cambrian-Ordovician units in the central basin of the western Sahara are correlated with those of the eastern and western sections of the Amguid depression in Hoggar (Algeria). The El Moungar conglomerate, Djebel In Hedrane sandstone, and the lower Tassili sandstone are tentatively designated as lower Cambrian. The upper Tassili sandstone is Tremadocian, possibly lower Arenig at the top. The Iraouene sandstone represents the upper Arenig and Llanvirnian. The Felar-Felar complex is Gotlandian.
