Boundary layer solutions for natural convection in porous media

Abstract
An approximate solution is developed for natural convection in porous media resulting from localized heat sources. The method is applicable for moderate levels of convection. Results of the method compare well with those of other calculational methods and with experimental data. The solution for a spherical source can be used as an indirect method for the determination of permeability in some cases.Keywords
