Abstract
The rapid evolution of cross-linked polyethylene for high-voltage cable applications and the factors which promoted this development are discussed in relation to the growing demand for solid-dielectric constructions. Advances in cable design and technology are outlined for this thermally-stable insulation, highlighting the technical advantages of tandem-extruded cross-linked semiconductive shielding. Keywords
