Abstract
Petroleum ether extracts of 33 spp. of macroscopic seaweeds (Chlorophyta, Rhodophyta and Phaeophyta) were assayed for their antibacterial activity against Sarcina lutea [Micrococcus luteus] ATCC 1001, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538 P and Bacillus subtilis ATCC 6633. Some degree of antibacterial activity was present in 17 of these 33 extracts. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
