Photocurrent suppression in heterojunction solar cells

Abstract
A thin insulating layer at the material interface of a heterojunction solar cell can cause a suppression of photocurrent. This photocurrent suppression increases with increasing illumination intensity and interfacial layer thickness. Although the presence of such an interfacial layer can increase the conversion efficiency of solar cells at low illumination intensities, the photocurrent suppression effect precludes its use in systems using appreciable solar concentration.Keywords
