Abstract
Raman and far infrared spectra (in the frequency range 40–360 cm−1) have been recorded for polycrystalline samples of eight crystals having the cadmium chloride layered structure. The four fundamental zone-center vibrational frequencies are assigned for CdCl2, MgCl2, MnCl2, NiCl2, CdBr2 and NiBr2.Keywords
