The Effects of Drugs on Limulus Cardioregulators

Abstract
Previous lesion and stimulation research has demonstrated the existence of both cardioaccelerators and cardioinhibitors in Limulus abdominal ganglia. Perfusion of the ganglia with various drugs indicates that it is possible to selectively activate cardioaccelerators with acetylcholine or eserine and cardioinhibitors with picrotoxin. γ-Aminobutyric acid acts as a non-specific inhibitor of both functions.
