Abstract
Of 22 strains of Aegilops tested for reaction to hessian fly, Phytophaga destructor, 18 were found susceptible to infestation. Appreciable infestations of normal puparia developed on A. columnaris, A. biuncialis, A. squarrosa, A. triuncialis, A. crassa, A. bicornis, A. ovata, A. tauchii, A. trioristata and A. cylindrica. Two strains each of A. ventricosa and A. cylindrica appeared to be resistant to infestation. All strains tested were found to be less attractive to flies for oviposition than wheat. 9 selections of wheat-Aegilops crosses proved susceptible to infestation. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
