Abstract
Research that addresses intuition as experienced by nurses in critical care settings is rare; however, evidence to support the usefulness of intuition in making complex clinical decisions is mounting. The research reported here suggests that intuition is not a second-rate substitute for intelligent and rational decision-making; rather, it is a legitimate adjunct to empirical observation and linear analysis. Keywords
