Abstract
A system has been developed for rapid dielectric profiling of ice cores at the time of drilling . Data from the top 38 metres of a 133 m core from Dolleman Island, Antarctic Peninsula, show that this method is capable of providing detailed dielectric parameters comparable to those obtained by conventional techniques. Chemical and isotopic analysis of the core is needed before establishing correlations between the dielectric behaviour and other parameters
