Abstract
The TiCl4-catalyzed reaction of α-(phenylseleno)-cycloalkanones with aldehydes gives aldol products with high threo selectivity. High stereoselectivity is also achieved in the formation of spiro aldol products starting with α-(phenylseleno)cycloalkanones bearing an aldehyde chain. Keywords
