Abstract
The elastic diffuse magnetic scattering of neutrons from ferromagnetic alloys of (Ni74.5Al25.5)100-xFex has been measured at 4.2 K. The giant moments induced are 18.5+or-3.0, 12.0+or-2.0, and 8.6+or-1.5 mu B/Fe atom for x=0.2, 0.5, and 1.0 respectively, of which 3.0+or-0.3 mu B is at the Fe site. The polarization extends more than 10 AA into the Ni3Al matrix. Magnetization measurements are consistent with the neutron measurements. Keywords
