Neutralization of Bacteriophage by Intact and Degraded Rabbit Antibody

Abstract
Summary: The ability of intact homologous rabbit antibody (7 S), pepsin-digested bivalent antibody (5 S), and pepsin-digested and reduced univalent antibody (3.6 S) to neutralize bacteriophage was compared. It was found that, on a weight basis, the order of neutralizing activity was 7 S > 5 S > 3.6 S. The significance of these findings is discussed.
