Abstract
Three patients with disseminated lupus erythematosus are described - 2 developed severe agranulo-cytosis and 1 aplastic anemia, probably drug-induced. A drug which did not produce bone marrow depression with any significant frequency was implicated. Patients with disseminated lupus probably develop drug reactions due to an antibody to the drug which is bound to the surface of the cell. Such reactions are probably different from the drug-precipitated lupus after the administration of hydralazine, anticonvulsants and other drugs. Keywords
