WOMEN IN MANAGEMENT: THE MBA STUDENTS' PERSPECTIVE.

Abstract
A preliminary analysis of data from a survey of MBA students reveals the following predispositions toward the subject of women in management. On a semantic differential scale, male and female MBA students generally agree on a description of the effective manager concept. For a majority of the males, however, the concept is decidedly masculine in connotation, while for females the concept is sexually neutral. Both males and females implicitly stereotype MBA students of the opposite sex negatively from the perspective of the effective manager concept. Students of both sexes anticipate the structuring of the sexually integrated work situation more positively as the situation changes from one of female superiority to female subordination to male and female colleagueship.
