Abstract
The fact that atrophy in Pick's disease involves especially the frontal lobes should induce one to look for symptoms which are known to be characteristic of lesions of the frontal lobe. In the description of the symptomatology of Pick's disease there is some evidence which points to a functional disturbance of the frontal lobes. Formerly, however, it was not possible to base the diagnosis on psychologic disturbances, as the mental changes which are characteristic of lesions of the frontal lobe had not yet been recognized. Today, knowledge has advanced greatly, and it appears justifiable to make a diagnosis of a lesion of the frontal lobes on the basis of mental changes. The case to be reported may demonstrate that it is possible to diagnose Pick's disease on psychologic criteria alone.
