Abstract
The 3s2 3pn-3s 3pn+1 and 3pn-3pn-1 3d transitions in Ni XI to XVII and Co X to XVII are classified as a result of the analysis of the spectra emitted from a theta-pinch plasma containing small percentages of nickel or cobalt carbonyl. The nickel lines account for a number of lines in the solar spectrum between 140 AA and 300 AA. The observations check the identity of six coronal forbidden lines. Keywords
