Abstract
The amino-acid analysis of a glycoprotein obtained from saliva by chromatographic methods differs markedly from that of denture pellicle and it is clear that the latter cannot be formed from the glycoprotein simply by loss of carbohydrate. Note is made of the similarity in amino-acid composition of the glycoprotein obtained from human saliva and the mucoid obtained by other workers from the bovine submaxillary gland.
