Abstract
Turf injury by Japanese beetle can be avoided by inoculation of the ground with milky disease, Bacillus popilliae. A table is included showing army posts treated since 1940. Excellent results were obtained in protecting foliage from adult beetle attack by the use of 50% wettable DDT powder at the rate of 2 lb. per 100 gal. of water. Heavy adult feeding was stopped in a sweet corn field by the same spray applied with an orchard sprayer. Keywords
