Abstract
Empirical data from the 1950 Study of Consumer Expenditures, Incomes and Savings and from the 1955–56 LIFE Study of Consumer Expenditures make possible the testing of economic and sociological theories of leisure-spending behavior. Also some new hypotheses are presented here about the determinants of the demand for leisure goods. Keywords
