Effect of Cortisone on Vascularization and Opacification of the Cornea Induced by Alloxan

Abstract
Intracameral injns. of alloxan in rabbits produced opacif ication, swelling and vascularization of the cornea. All these effects were reduced, although not inhibited, by 7.5 mg. cortisone injd. subconjunctivally twice weekly. When the cortisone was given intramusc, 20 mg. daily, vascularization of the cornea was reduced after the first week, but the opacification and swelling were unaltered.
