Abstract
The density spectrum of cosmic-ray showers has been studied with a detector spacing of 30 square root 2 m. Above about 15 particles m-2 the spectrum is well fitted by a power law with an index ( gamma ) of 1.85+or-0.02. At densities below this, the spectrum is appreciably flatter. Keywords
