Polarisation-insensitive operation of coherent FSK transmission system using polarisation diversity

Abstract

Dynamic operation of an optical polarisation diversity receiver with a square-law baseband combining technique in the FSK system is demonstrated experimentally. It is confirmed that this scheme shows almost the same operation as the optimum maximal-ratio combining technique.
