Analysis of intermodulation distortion specification for radio LANs using multicarrier schemes

Abstract
In ad hoc radio networks, a near-far problem occurs when a transmitter transmitting unwanted signals is much closer to a reference receiver than that transmitting wanted signals. Intermodulation distortion (IMD) from the unwanted transmitter due to the nonlinearity of its power amplifier may be strong enough to block the wanted signals. In the Letter, a closed form expression is derived to characterise the relationship between the blocking probability and linearity requirement of the power amplifier. The results presented are also verified by Monte-Carlo simulation.
