Abstract
A series of experiments on the square-section bends was performed for determining the effects of the following shape differences of the surface-pressure distributions on cavitation inception. (a) Difference of the lengths of minimum pressure region; (b) difference of the pressure gradients. The effects of those differences were clarified. Also, in these bends, the appearances of the increase of head loss and limiting flow condition due to the cavitation occurrence were clarified.
