Abstract
The effect of selective parietal cell vagotomy on gastric emptying time has been compared to other forms of gastric vagotomy, with and without drainage in the dog. Selective parietal cell vagotomy alone maintained normal emptying, while all other vagotomies required a drainage procedure. Selective parietal cell vagotomy was the only procedure which significantly altered the course of development of histamine induced gastroduodenal ulcer. Keywords
