Abstract
The theory that tribonucleation of bubbles in liquids occurs in the region of reduced pressure between separating surfaces is quantitatively evaluated. The homogeneous nucleation of bubbles in water appears to be feasible by this mechanism. The effectiveness of the process may be considerably influenced by the nature of the solid surface. Keywords
