Abstract
A fault with an orientation of 327/84 NE and more than 100 km in length traverses the site of the LG-3 dam. North of the dam site, it cuts an antiform in the Archean metasedimentary rocks which are folded into domes and basins. The average net slip along this fault is 500 m ± 200 m with a normal but slighty dextral movement. The fault affects the lower Proterozoic Sakami Formation and thus is later than it. There is no indication of recent movement along the fault.
