Abstract
A procedure is described for the evaluation of 2 .times. 3 tables, in which the 2 rows correspond to the 2 treatments to be compared and the 3 columns are ordered classifications (improved, unchanged, deteriorated). The method is illustrated by an example: liver biopsy data from a controlled clinical trial of silymarin in the treatment of chronic hepatitis in humans.
