Abstract
This study deals with the polygenic modifying systems of a specific recombinant SD chromosome. By recombining this chromosome with a multiply marked homologue and by testing the subsequent SD and non-SD bearing recombinant chromosomes in both cis and trans configurations, it has been possible to grossly localize major modifiers of distortion. These are located between the loci of cinnabar+and curved+, as well as between curved+and plexus+. It has been further shown that some of these enhancers produce significant effects only when present in coupling with the SD locus. Keywords
