Abstract
Although there is growing enthusiasm for supply chain managementand integrated logistics, much prescriptive writing rests on a flimsyempirical base. Explores the methodological dilemmas which arise inresearch in logistics practice. Presents three contrasting models ofresearch frameworks. Outlines the experiences of a novel investigationinto supply chain integration in the UK carried out in the first half of1994.
