Abstract
Lower bounds on performance (velocity and shear estimate variance) are computed for a four-beam pulsed Doppler shear profiler system. It is shown that performance is asymptotic to a constant as SNR increases; this is evidently due to the assumed incoherent scattering properties of the medium. Curves and expressions are presented which define the tradeoffs between resolution and accuracy for an operational system. Keywords
