Abstract
The first result obtained by means of various histochemical techniques in the study of secretory epithelium of the endolymphatic sac in Bufo vulgaris and Xenopus laevis are reported. Differently positive reactions were exibited by 1) the Gomori method for alkaline phospatase, 2) McManus (PAS) technique, also after saliva and piridine, 3) Brachet methil green-pyronin method for nucleic acids. Granula of different sizes are evidenced in the epithelial cells by paraldehyde-fuchsin. The cells stain orthochromatically with toluidin blue, whereas a definite and fast metachromasia is exibited by the amorphous content of the endolymphatic sac. A weak basophilia is shown by staining with methylene blue at various pH. These data are compared with analogous findings obtained by various AA. in other elements wich take part -although with a different mechanism- to processes of elaboration of Ca salts (osteoblasts, odontoblasts, adamantoblasts, etc.).Keywords
