Abstract
The transitory leucopenia in the peripheral blood of rabbits following injection of B. typhosus toxic substances is due to the temporary accumulation of neutrophils in the reticulo-endothelial organs. We deduce from this that the phenomenon of leucopenia in the typhoid fever of man is due to the constant liberation of B. typhosus toxic substances in the circulation during the course of the disease. Keywords
