Abstract
Ten derivatives of isothiourea, including 8 new compounds, were synthesized and screened for antitumor activity. Twenty-nine derivatives of azine, 27 thiourea derivatives, 6 thiazole derivatives, 20 triazoline derivatives and 7 guanidine derivatives were also synthesized and screened for the antitumor activity. The antitumor activity was assayed using ascitic or solid type [mouse] Ehrlich carcinoma cells. Among them, N-phenyl-S-benzylthioisothiourea hydrochloride, S-furfurylthioisothiourea hydrochloride, N-phenyl-S-furfurylthioisothiourea hydrochloride, 4,4''-diacetylaminobenzalazine and 2,3-dihydro-4-methyl-2-(2''-pyridylmethylenehydrazono)thiazole dihydrochloride were effective against the solid type of [mouse] Ehrlich carcinoma. Keywords
