Abstract
The emission spectra at ⩽ 4 K of neat KCrO3F and KCrO3Cl are reported and assigned as phosphorescence from the CrO3 X - chromophore. The zero field splittings (X = F and Cl) and kinetic parameters (X = Cl) of these and of the emissive spin triplet states in neat K2Cr2O7 are also determined by ODMR methods. The energies, mean lifetimes, and fine structure constants D of the triplet states in the three systems are very similar. Keywords
