Abstract
This paper examines the role of the able elderly in an aging society. The capacity of older people to serve as an economic and social resource is discussed. A proposal to develop a secondary labor market which employs older people in more flexible work situations expanding the current human service delivery system is presented, and a case study of a specific educational approach providing new opportunities leading to productive roles for able people in human services is discussed. Keywords
