Identification of Polypeptide Precursors to HSV-1 Glycoproteins by Cell-free Translation

Abstract
Using antisera of limited specificity, the in vitro translation products of herpes simplex virus type 1 RNA, polypeptides antigenically related to infected mouse L cell glycoproteins were identified. Non-glycosylated polypeptide precursors of MW 85,000 and 52,000 apparently correspond to infected cell glycoproteins of MW 120,000-126,000 and 56,000-68,000, respectively.
