Electromagnetic Wave Scattering from a Magnetically Confined High-Temperature Plasma

Abstract
Electromagnetic wave scattering from a charged particle confined to a circular orbit is studied for cases where relativistic corrections must be included in the analysis to obtain a valid description for the spatial and spectral distribution of scattered radiation. The results are compared with the scattering calculated on the basis of a two‐dimensional isotropic distribution of straight‐line orbits. It is shown that the two calculations produce the same spectrum of scattered radiation provided the fact that the scattering region is finite in the direction of the observer is included in the analysis.
