Abstract
Gas absorption with simultaneous chemical reaction can be divided into three characteristic groups. For the very slow reactions the rate‐determining step is the diffusion of the solute gas through the liquid film.Chemical reaction velocity is determinative for moderately rapid and slow reactions. For the very fast reactions gas film resistance to the solute gas and liquid film resistance to the reactive liquid component are rate‐determining.Rate equations for the last group in terms of the individual mass transfer coefficients have been derived and have been checked on absorption experiments. The experimental results prove to be correlated satisfactorily. Keywords
