Abstract
Spartina townsendi is valuable economically in the stabilization of estuarine mudflats, as an aid in coast protection, and in reclamation. Spartina marshes may provide food for wildfowl, some mammals and fooder for cattle and sheep. In some areas there ia a need to control Spartina with herbicides.Keywords
