Abstract
Murine cytomegalovirus (MCMV) produced a cytopathic effect in mouse brain, guinea pig embryonic brain, human brain and fibroblast cells. Virus-specific antigen was detected by immunofluorescence in these cells after primary infection with MCMV. MCMV also replicated in mouse embryo brain and guinea pig brain cells. Although definite evidence of MCMV replication could not be demonstrated in human cells, MCMV infectivity was maintained for 12 days in human cell cultures. This publication has 31 references indexed in Scilit:
