Abstract
A theoretical relation is derived for the variance of a 1/f noise signal as a function of the sample duration T. With the help of this relation the 1/f character of a noise signal in the microhertz range is verified by measuring the variance as a function of T, with T≤3×105 s. At f=3×10−6 Hz the spectral density of the noise signal was still found to be inversely proportional to the frequency. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
