Abstract
A case is reported of thrombotic pulmonary embolism of 6 years'' duration after the initial episode; the embolus at autopsy occupied an estimated 90% by volume of the capacity of the main pulmonary artery and its right and left primary branches. The patient died as a result of right heart failure.Keywords
